主題:從愛人到愛主

 

  1. 颱風肆虐東岸,造成龐大人命和財物損失,本堂將透過天主教慈善團體和慈幼修會捐助災民,今天彌撒中有第二次奉獻,請慷慨解囊。
  2. 我們誠心感謝吳仲基神父(Fr. Francis Ng) 及Fr. William Keane今天為本堂教友主持彌撒聖祭,祈求上主多多降福他們。
  3. 下主日中文彌撒將由吳建寬神父(Fr. Michael Joseph Wu) 主持,英文彌撒將由Fr. William Keane主特。
  4. 10月23日至11月13日林神父將前往香港參加「教友職務交流大會」並度假,Mary Huang會在堂區辦事處工作,直至Michael Lau 在11/5返回工作崗位。
  5. 青少年組TFC今天開始一年一度『收集罐頭食品和火雞』活動,以支持St Mary教堂食物支援計劃。當天將有糕餅義賣,大家既可用美食款待自己,又可同時行善。收集罐頭食品由今天至11/18,收集火雞只在11/18,亦歡迎捐款贊助。
  6. 籌款晚會抽獎卷中獎而未領獎的號碼是:09014; 03804;17524;15352;03812; 10380;16001; 08535;15741;14409;16754;09142;19483;15602;10704,請各得獎者聯絡堂區辦公室領獎。
  1. 聖母軍及善靈組定於十一月(煉靈月)十七日(星期六)早上9:00誦念玫瑰經,9:30奉獻煉靈彌撒。彌撒意向如下:

一.為該兩善會年內服務送別的善靈祈禱,並計劃邀請家人參加。

二.為安息主懷的會員及親友祈禱。

三.為本堂歸主的教友及親友祈禱,歡迎各位教友參加。

  1. 堂區將在11月18日籌辦感恩節晚餐聚會,感謝聖家會和華人天主教協會的贊助,為晚餐提供火雞,火腿,玉米和甜薯等主菜,歡迎大家帶來頭盆或甜點一同分享。此外在2:00將有電影播放,4:00舉行天才表演,歡迎各教友和親友展現你們的才華,例如唱歌,樂器,舞蹈,饒舌歌(rapping)等,請向Warren Lee或Mabel Ngo報名。晚餐在天才表演後開始。
  2. 堂區將臨期退省將於12月1日星期六上午9時至下午4時舉行,中文講者是伍國超神父(Fr. Jay Wu) ,英文退省由今屆加州華人天主教青年生活營主講神師,來自聖荷西的Fr. Joseph Kim主講。報名於11月4日開始。請各教友及早報名。
  3. 2013至2014年的堂區牧民議會將在十一月尾改選新任牧民議會會員,任期為兩年。牧民議會會員的職責包括提供意見及幫助主任神父在堂區福傳工作,發展,及堂區日常事務。敬請各教友提名可參與下屆的議會的人選。議會會員提名表將由Joseph Ng, Warren Lee或招待員提供。
  4. 今日派發11月煉靈月為已亡親友祈禱的單張,請各教友填寫後放入指定的箱內。
  5. 11月9日是祝聖拉特郎大殿慶日,不是當守瞻禮,但亦請參與彌撒,求天主降福教會。
  6. 11月10日是良一世教宗紀念日,求他降偪及振興教會。

The Thirty First Sunday in Ordinary Time

  1. Tropical storm Sandy devastated the East Coast.  This parish will contribute its help, through Catholic charity organizations and the Salesians, with a second collection today.  Please help generously.
  2. We sincerely thank Father Francis Ng and Father William Keane for celebrating Mass for us today.  We pray the Lord will bless them abundantly.
  3. The Chinese Mass next Sunday will be celebrated by Father Michael Joseph Wu, and the English Mass again by Father William Keane.
  4. Father Lam is taking a trip to Hong Kong from Tuesday, October 23 through Tuesday, November 13 in order to attend the “Lay Affairs Interchange Convention” (translated from the Chinese) and also take a holiday.  In the absence of both Father Lam and Michael Lau, Mary Huang has been working in the Parish office, until the return of Michael Lau tomorrow, Monday, November 5.
  5. TFC will begin its annual collection of canned goods and turkeys in support of the food barn of St. Mary’s parish.  They will start with a bake sale today.  You can perform charity and satisfy your palate at the same time.  Collection of canned goods will begin today and last until November 18.  Turkeys will only be collected on November 18.  Monetary donations are also welcome.
  6. Following are the unclaimed winning numbers from the raffle at the Fund Raising Dinner:  09014; 03804;17524;15352;03812; 10380;16001; 08535;15741;14409;16754;09142;19483;15602;10704.  Please contact the office for the prizes.
  7. To commemorate All Souls Month (November), on Saturday, November 17, the Legion of Mary and the Bereavement Committee will offer Rosary recitation at 9 a.m. and a memorial Mass at 9:30 for these intentions:
    1. For the deceased served by the two sodalities this year.  Their families are invited to attend.
    2. For members and family and friends who have returned to the Lord.
    3. For parishioners and family and friends who have returned to the Lord.  All parishioners are welcome to attend.
  8. Our parish will hold a free Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, November 18.  The dinner of ham, turkey, corn, and yam will be donated by the Holy Family Society and the Non-Profit Organization (CCALA).  Parishioners are welcome to bring aperitifs and desserts to share.  There will be a movie shown at 2, followed by a talent show at 4.  All parishioners and family and friends are welcome to display their talents, such as singing, playing instruments, dancing, and rapping.  Please register with Warren Lee or Mabel Ngo if you wish to perform.  Dinner will begin after the talent show.
  9. This year’s Advent Retreat will be held on Saturday, December 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Fr. Jay Wu will give the Chinese retreat, and Fr. Joseph Kim will come from San Jose specifically to give the English retreat to the youths of southern California.  Please register as soon as possible.
  10. Elections for the at-large members of the Parish Pastoral Council for 2013 to 2014 will be held at the end of November.  They will serve for a term of two years.  Their duties include offering their opinions during meetings, and helping the pastor in his pastoral work, church development, and regular church affairs.  Parishioners are requested to submit nominations.  Nominating forms can be obtained from Joseph Ng, Warren Lee, or Hospitality Group members (Mass ushers).
  11. The forms for request of prayers for the deceased for November will be distributed today.  Please deposit into the specified box after filling them out.
  12. Friday, November 9 is the Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica in Rome.  Although it is not a holy day of obligation, parishioners are invited to attend Mass and ask God to bless His Church.
  13.  Saturday, November 10 is the memorial of St. Leo the Great, Pope and Doctor of the Church.  Pray that he blesses and renews the Church.
