5/19/2013 聖神降臨五旬節

1. 本堂在暑假期間將舉辦籃球訓練營,第一期6/9-7/14,第二期7/21-8/18,每期五周,逢星期日9:30-11:00am受訓,包括籃球規則,技巧,體能訓練,和比賽等。費用$30一期,或$45兩期,贈送T-Shirt和背包。歡迎6-12歲男女小朋友參加。報名請聯絡Selina Ko, Daniel Choy, 或Virginia Wong。
2. 聖家會每年舉辦的Hollywood Bowl音樂晚會， 今年在7月27日舉辦，節目是曾獲多個艾美及東尼獎的百老匯歌劇 “芝加哥” 。 歌劇之前會有隨意參加的Potluck聚餐於下午4:30開始。 歡迎大家參加，即日開始售票: 會員$42，非會員$45。 因預訂的座位有限，有興趣者請從速與Paul Lee或Joe Ng聯絡。
3. 5月24日 (星期五) 晚上7時30分我們隆重慶祝聖母進教之佑瞻禮，彌撒中我們特別為中國教會祈禱，求主賜中國國泰民安，聖教廣揚。
4. 聖家會今年的避靜將於亡兵紀念日的長週末舉辦; 5/25日早上9:00開始至5/26下午4:00. 地點是Encino 的 Holy Spirit Retreat Center. 神師是Toronto 來的程明聰神父。 今次的主題為 “信‧是‧有緣”， 歡迎各會員及教友參加。 留宿的費用是： 會員$110, 非會員$130. 不留宿的費用是： 會員$80, 非會員$90. 因為名額有限，請大家從速和聖家會的職員報名。
5. 2013-2014年的兒童宗教教育班已開始報名。如果在5月尾前報名將有優惠。每一名學生學費是60元，同一個家庭兩名學生是75元，同一個家庭三名學生是85元。
6. 堂區將於6月為今年高中或以上學歷的畢業生慶祝及舉行畢業感恩祭。有興趣參加的畢業生請於5月12日前向 Eric Li, Theresa 或 Daniel Choy查詢及報名。除了畢業彌撒，已受洗的天主教畢業生今年可申請在本堂新成立的青年獎學金。獎學金是為繼續規劃進讀大學/專業學校或高等學業教育的研究生。有興趣者請Daniel Choy或堂區辦事處查詢。申請截止日期是5月26日。

St. Bridget Chinese Catholic Church Announcement
5/19/2013 Pentecost Sunday
1. The parish will hold two summer basketball camp from 6/9-7/14 and 7/21-8/18. Each course is five weeks, from 9:30 – 11:00 morning on Sunday. Session will include teaching of basketball rules, skills, physical training, and competition. Cost is $ 30 per course, or $ 45 for both. T-Shirt and backpacks will be given to all who registered. All children between ages of 6 to 12 are welcomed. For more information and to register, please contact Selina Ko, Daniel Choy, or Virginia Wong.
2. Holy Family’s annual Hollywood Bowl concert will be on July 27th. The performance will be the Emmy and Tony Awards winner, “Chicago”. The optional pot-luck will start 4:30PM. All are welcomed. Tickets will go on sale today. HFS member, $42; non-member,$45. Spaces are limited. Please see Paul Lee or Joe Ng for details.
3. On May 24th, Friday, 7:30 in the evening, we will solemnly celebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady Mary Help of Christians. We will pray for the church in China. May our Lord grant the Church in China peace and prosperity.
4. Holy Family’s annual retreat will be held on Memorial weekend, 5/25, starting 9:00AM to 5/26, ending 4:00PM at Holy Spirit Retreat Center in Encino. Retreat Spiritual Director will be Fr. Francis Ching from Toronto. Cost for member including over- night stay is $110; non-member is $130. For no over-night stay – member is $80; non-member is $90. Space limited. Please register with HFS officers ASAP.
5. Children Religious Education classes has begun registration for 2013-2014. . There will be a discount if registration is completed in the month of May. The cost is $60 for 1 student, $75 for 2 students in the same family, and $85 for 3 students in the same family.
6. The parish will honor the upcoming graduates with a Graduation Mass in June. Parishioners graduating from high school and above in this year, please contact Eric Li, Theresa Choy, or Daniel Choy by 5/12 to sign up and details. In addition to the Graduation Mass, this year’s graduates who are baptized Catholics and planning on higher education at a University or graduate/professional school for advanced degree can apply for a youth scholarship newly set up at our parish. Please see Daniel Choy or the office for an application. The deadline to apply is May 26.
