Announcements
1. 2/14 is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, a day of fast and abstinence. There will be 7:30pm Mass and distributing of ash. All are welcome.
2. 2/15(Thu.) is Chinese New Year Eve, there will be 7:30pm Mass. All are welcome. Let’s renew ourselves.
3. 2/16(Fri.) is Chinese New Year, the grand CNY Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Clark on 1/18 (Sun.). Friday is the first Friday of Lent, there will Passion of the Christ at 7:30pm, all are welcome. Since it is CNY, the abstinence is exempted. But please make it up accordingly to commemorate the Lord’s suffering.
4. There will be Mass on 2/17(Sat.) at 9:30am, all are welcome.
5. Our parishioner Elaine Lee returned to the Lord on 1/24. Please pray for the repose of her soul.
6. Together In Mission provides substantial financial support to 80 parishes, 63 schools and 12,000 students in our Archdiocese. These parishes and schools provide education, ministry and Catholic presence for tens of thousands of our sisters and brothers. The goal for St. Bridget Chinese Catholic Church this year is $11,786. We will carry out second collections every Sunday until we achieve this goal. The theme of the campaign this year is “Let us love (1 Jn 3:18).” Together in Mission provides an opportunity to show our love in deed, not just in word or speech. Thank you for your generosity.
7. Holy Family Society Chinese New Year celebration and the 1st meeting for 2018 will be held on Feb 25, 2018 at St. Joseph House.
8. The Church and CCALA have already distributed or mailed out 2017 donation receipts. If you have not received yours, please contact Maggie Tsui.
9. On February 18th, Bishop Edward Clark will come to St. Bridget to celebrate Chinese New Year Mass, conduct ancestors’ veneration at 10am, and give blessings to couples celebrating their 5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50 years and above wedding anniversary. For Wedding anniversary, please register with Richard Cheung or Stanley Chu. $25 per couple for certificate and lunch with Bishop.The Mass is followed by New Year Fair (year of dog), from 12:30-2:00 pm. Please invite your families and friends to come. If you would like to volunteer for this New Year Fair event, please contact Selina Ko. CNY lunch tickets are available today for purchase at $5/person. Today is the last day to sell pre-order CNY lunch tickets.
10. Starting 2/3 to 4/14, VITA program at St. Bridget Chinese Catholic Church will provide free income tax service on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm to families with annual total income $54,000 or lower. Those who are interested may call (323)222-5518 for appointment. Volunteer may contact Raymond Wong for detail.
11. North America Chinese Catholic Apostolate Convention 2018 will be held in Mary Help of Christians Parish Edmonton, Canada from May 18 to 21. You are all welcome. Please register with Fr. John Lam if you are interested. Please see the poster for details.

3. 2月16日是正月初一新春節, 新春彌撒改於2月18日(星期日) 隆重慶祝, 主教Bishop William Clark 主祭. 今日又是四旬期第一星期五, 晚上7時30分有朝拜苦路善功, 歡迎各位教友參加. 今日本應守小齋, 因正適逢新春, 主教寬免守小齋, 但應自行作補贖, 紀念耶穌主難.

6. 『共襄福傳』籌募行動為我們教區內80個堂區、63間學校及12,000位學童提供了急需的財政援助。這些堂區為數以萬計的兄弟姊妹提供教育及宗教服務，使天主教會堅定不移地陪伴着弱勢社群。本年度，羅省華人天主堂的籌募目標為$11,786。我們將於每主日收集第二次奉獻直至達標為止。『共襄福傳』籌募行動今年的主題是「讓我們去愛」【若一 3:18】；這個愛心行動將能使得到我們支援的弟兄姊妹們感受到我們的關愛。讓我們以行動和事實去愛而不只是留於口舌言詞。謝謝各位的慷慨。

Bishop Edward Clark 將會在主日2月18日到本堂慶祝新春彌撒, 祭祖典禮及祝福結婚週年紀念, 當日聯合中英文彌撒於上午10時開始. 夫婦慶祝5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 及50年及以上結婚週年者請與 Vincent Yip和Stanley Chu 登記. 每對夫婦費用為 $25, 包括祝賀證書及與主教午餐. 午餐後中午12時30分至2時30分我們將慶祝農曆新年 (狗). 節目包括舞獅, 猜燈謎, 寫揮春及其它中華文化藝術製作. 請各位教友購買午餐券並陪伴親朋好友參加. 教友如願意協助大會做義工, 請與 Selina Ko 聯絡. 午餐券已開始發售, $5一位. 今日最後賣餐券.
